Meditation and the Creative Process

Zangmo Alexander’s visual art, meditation, writing, teaching and mentoring practice has its roots in her personal history and long term awareness meditation practice. This includes having been a Buddhist nun for seven years before returning to lay life.

Using mixed media painting, drawing, monoprint making, book making, photography and creative writing on intimate and larger scales, Zangmo Alexander explores mind and its unchanging essence.

Over a lifetime of practice, awareness meditation and contemporary art have become ways of knowing, feeling, investigating, understanding and expressing the visible and invisible, leading to healing and a more profound understanding of self and other.

Zangmo Alexander holds a Masters Degree in Fine Art. She is a fully qualified teacher with a Postgraduate Certificate of Education from Cambridge University UK, a Diploma in Coaching and long-term training in mindful awareness meditation both secular and Buddhist. She is also currently training to teach meditation.

Her art work is in public and private collections in Europe and the USA.

Zangmo accepts commissions from public and private collectors, lectures, gives lectures and talks on creativity and meditation, and welcomes studio visits by appointment to view art work.
